I have been going through the security tips in this thread of Jag's and implementing them, however I am now at the optimisation section, and although I will go through the tips etc when I have a better idea of what I am doing, is the standard VPS going to have problems in its default state if I don't do the optimisations straight away?

Obviously the security is not something I could going to leave it needed immediate attention, so I have followed the tips exactly, but I want to try and understand what I am doing before altering to much.

Next question, in the security section, there was a list of things that were safe even though they were flagged as possible threats, however when I ran the trojan check it came up with the following
Possible Trojan - /usr/bin/cpan

Possible Trojan - /usr/bin/instmodsh
Possible Trojan - /usr/bin/pstruct
Possible Trojan - /usr/bin/splain
Possible Trojan - /usr/bin/dbiprof
Do I need to worry about any of these and in the event I do get a trojan, how should I deal with it?

Thanks in advance
