Unhappy slow loading time in draco

my site has only a few visitors, with eaccelerator installed, and tweaked my.cnf and httpd.conf

It used to be fast when I was newly transferred in draco (loading time can go as fast as 0.07 sec - 0.09 sec) but now aside from the frequent downtimes, loading time can reached to as much as 48 secs. Server load is not that high when that happens (~2). Sometimes server load is 0.94 but loading time is 16 seconds. IOWAIT goes up to 90% every once in awhile that's when the loading time really goes up.

Tech support has done nothing to improve the situation aside from telling me that the load is back to normal.

My site's loading time was faster when I was semi-dedicated (0.1 sec) and even in giga deal.

I don't know what's the reason behind this sudden change and draco's erratic behavior.

Looks to me like your machine is completely out of memory and is probably swapping either your stuff to disk or swapping other partitions' stuff out to disk to give you your guaranteed allotment, but I cant see the swap numbers in your screen prints, and I don't know the details on when this occurs and I could be completely wrong anyway.

I'd look at memory issues first.

For the record, I'm on draco and I'm lucky to get a loading time of 48s at the moment.

I don't think it is our individual VPS's -- its the entire server as a whole.

I'm on Draco too and my VPS has been utterly worthless the past few days. I can't get the VPS control panel to load at all, it doesn't even timeout, it just loads forever. My WHM control panel won't load either.

Draco needs fixed, and it needs fixed now, or I'm out of here. I can't wait around for this stuff to get fixed. I came here because of the glowing reviews on WebHostingTalk, but so far its been so-so.

It would appear to me that draco has been oversold.

I'm glad that I'm not alone to rant here. I should've stayed at epsilon.

@knox, probably you're right that draco is oversold because it's just recently that this happened and have you seen the big banner of jagpc at WHT? Maybe they're putting the new ones all at draco. To think I was transferred because they told me that they're doing load balancing. Yeah right!

Btw, now the page won't load. It's unreachable.

I can't SSH into my VPS at all now. Where's the 24/7 support advertised on JaguarPC's homepage?

Its not just draco. I'm on miranda and been having the exact same problem for about 4-5 days. I have made 4-5 tickets with about a dozen replies each time. Every response is basically "Everything is fine now" with no explanation, and even after the response the sites are extremely slow. My memory usage, cpu usage, bandwidth, and even hard disk space are all very good. I'm not even above like 20% of anything but my sites are constantly timing out, and loading extremely slow. I just wish someone could get to the bottom of this ASAP.

@homoludens, yes my OS is CentOS, with directadmin as control panel

Calling the senior techs. Please look into our servers. This is an issue that the tech support can't fix anymore.

muks, the internet and its brother are very much in agrrement that the current stock centoS kernels have problems with iowait. See, for example:

    http://centos.org/modules/newbb/view...?topic_id=3016

Although that's probably not the source of our current troubles. Unless all of us whingers are using centOS and the untroubled aren't ...

    Hrm...

Yeah, that's a trickey one to figure. I never really thought about it before now, but... I just did a reverse lookup, and one of the accounts has 14 web sites on it. Now, let's say this is average, and JagPC is putting 20 accounts on a machine...

On face value, 20 accounts per machine doesn't sound like it's being oversold, but if each one of those accounts has 14 web sites, then that's effectively 280 clients per machine. If each account had 20 web sites, that would be 400 clients per machine, to my way of thinking.

So, I suppose it all depends on how many web sites are being served, not the number of accounts...

I'm gonna have to think about that one for a while...

Um... you guys are submitting tickets, right?
