VPS users on draco... are your stats prior to April 23 gone too?

All traffic logs in my VPS have been deleted prior to April 23, the day that stat collection stopped and the VPS control panel starting spitting out errors.

The traffic stats were fixed, minus the stats on the 23rd because they weren't collected at all that day I was told, but now, ALL stats prior to the 23rd are now gone, too. The 24th and on are there.

    Anyone else?

CAN I GET OFF OF DRACO PLEASE!? There's a pattern in this forum and most problems like this are ON DRACO.

Why not ask it to sales if they can help you move to another hardware node, i think asking here doesn't help.

    Kind regards,
    Patrick

Because here I just want to see if anyone else on draco is having this problem or if its just me. Can't do that through sales, can I?

Have your '/var/log/wtmp' and '/var/run/utmp' log files been updating? Mine stopped two days ago. As a result the 'last' and 'who' commands don't work anymore. I am on a different server...katarn.

hmobrien, this has nothing to do with logfiles not working from apache or vz. read the answer to your orignal post. support should be able to fix this.

All the damn stats are gone again.

All the stats for my domain in the VPS control panel are GONE prior to the 19th. Last month this happened on the 15th.

What the hell is going on that you people can't archive stats for more than one month? Last time this happened, I got no apology and a promise that starting in May, it would never happen again.

    Well, it just did.

Well happened again. I guess this problem wasn't fix as I was told. In FACT I was told that starting in May, it wouldn't happen again.

Today I log into my VPS panel and realize that all stats prior to May 19 are, in fact, GONE. Sigh...

I was just backing up my web site, on a shared account, and I noticed all my stats are sitting in a '/tmp/' directory. I don't know where they reside on VPS, but do you think this might have something to do with it?

I know it's a silly question, but it's kind of a silly problem, you know? Maybe some process is doing housecleaning in your 'temp' folders from time-to-time, and throwing out your stats.

It's a stretch, but you never know...

Unfortunately my stats are gone as well, so the answer is yes. I am on Draco.

If your stats are important to you, why don't you save a copy of them locally? I know thats what I WILL be doing in future, I dont want to move because other than this Draco has been completely stable and running like a dream for me.

I put in a support ticket, and although the message I got back asked what stats I was referring to, when I rechecked all my stats had re-appeared. I don't know if they did something, or if it was a temporary glitch, but they are there now but they do only go back to show the first entry as the 30th April.

As my site is not commercial this isn't a big deal for me, although I can understand why it may be for commercial operations.

I thought on VPS we're responsible for our own logs. The whole purpose of VPS is to put activities like this into your hands so you can either choose to archive them or not.

I don't understand how this is a server wide problem in that each control panel/software is responsible for the server logs and runs independatly from all others.

The whole point is if we choose NOT to delete the stats, they should still be there, and if they are not, then we need to know who, what, or why they have been removed.

If I dont delete something on my VPS it is supposed to be there the next time I want it, and that is what knoxhosting.com is saying.

For me it is a matter of pride, for others it COULD be a matter of a lot of money (especially if they rely on sponsors that are only interested in the amount of traffic a site gets) thats why its important for some people here.

Anyway as I said, I have the stats I want, I also happen to be a happy client whose VPS is running just the way I want it to, long may it stay this way!

I believe the only way to get access to that is to give away your root access password. I mean... Jag has to ask me every time they want access to my VPS for the password becuase they don't have direct access. I'd be curious to know how/why Jag admitted it was their fault the first time they were deleted.
