    Upgrading

Hey everyone, I've been lurking around here for a while but I think this is my first post here. Anyway, I'll get to the point.

I'm looking at purchasing a VPS here at JagPC. Too many good things are said about Jag over at WHT to pass 'em up. I would like to know how easy it would be to upgrade my plan as time goes by. For instance, let's say I start on the freedom plan, determine my forum is growing out of those constraints, and wish to upgrade to apollo or enterprise (but not quite big enough for it's own server). Would it simply be a ticket to the sales folks, or would it (and this may be a tough one to answer directly because there's too many variables) involve moving account to a new server (which would be ok too, but would take a hair more time than increasing constraints technically)? Thanks guys, and looking forward to being a new customer.

    hello cajunman4life,

I think they can just upgrade you on the server, but even if they must move you to another server this will be done very quickly, a VPS server is nothing more as a big image of data on their systems, which they can move from one server to another and then start again. As long you stay within the same datacenter you will keep the same IP's and it will be done in matter of minutes really.

This is how VPS should work, how JPC does this ? nu clue, but i don't think they do it different as any other VPS host out there. Maybe a email to sales give you a bit more explaination as what i can give you here.

    Kindest regards,

    Patrick

My server got a memory upgrade, but im not sure, was hacked so everything was reset, but im pretty sure they can easly change it without having to move it, its a virutual server so it isnt a physical server where you have to put a memory stick or a new hd into the server, its a parameter thats changed, so it should be okey.

Send an email to sales before you order and pop the question

Hmm.. I dunno whether they like to move IPs from one machine to another. I was once moved from one shared machine to another and got a new IP (and yes, I do have an IP specifically for my own account, so I am not talking about the machine's shared IP).

I Have already upgraded my plan since I have been here, and yes its simply a matter of a ticket requesting it (or an email) and waiting for the invoice for the upgrade. No downtime, and no hassles either.

If you need to be moved onto a physically different server I was told the same applies, you as the client have nothing to do, Jaguar takes care of it for you!
