Unhappy Add on domains = Sub domain names?

    Hello all,

Well, I have noticed that if I go to a add on domain from my website, http://www.elitegfx.com/forum it goes to http://elitegfx.hewett.net.nz/forum/ (www.hewett.net.nz is my primary domain name - hence the sub domain name).

Although this only happens in IE (Internet Explorer), and I use FireFox, there are STILL (:P) many users that use IE, so I'd like to fix this problem

    Thanks a lot,
    BernardBlack

did you set up a "Multi-hosted" domain or did you park it with a redirect?

I believe they are Multi-Hosted domains. Below is what it says on my multi-hosted domain page.

    Multi-Hosted Domains

Multi-hosted (addon) are domain names that point to subdirectories within your account.

    Currently Multi-Hosted (addon) Domains:

    tutorialhunter.com (tutorialhunter)
    elitegfx.com (elitegfx)
    thedotaforum.com (thedotaforum) [redirect]

    Thanks for your help,
    BernardBlack

Okay, I think I know the problem, I changed servers (to gain access to php5), and I think that the DNS servers are different. I have contacted them through the client section's support tickets.

That may be, but more likly is when they moved you the Apache Config got screwed up.. either way support has to fix it.

This occurs when you go to a directory URL that doesn't have the trailing slash. There is a fix that support can make in the Apache conf if you open a ticket.

    For example, try these:
    http://www.jaypitoniak.com/highedwebdev05 (will redirect to pitoniak.interbrite.com)
    http://www.jaypitoniak.com/highedwebdev05/ (note trailing '/,' won't redirect)

I would never list important keywords in a forum. Believe it or not I have seen forum post outrank a website who was hoping to rank for those keywords.
