    Make pspell go now

Support tell me they have installed Pspell on my VPS as requested. However, when I run a simple test script, I get Fatal error: Call to undefined function: pspell_new().

Is there something I need to change somewhere in order to get Pspell up and running? And should it be showing in phpinfo (because it isn't)?

Ah. An answer. I was expecting tumbleweed to bounce by at any moment.

Right. I believe this means I have to re-compile PHP in order to get Pspell configured? I have absolutely no idea how to do this, and support have kindly refused to assist.

    to get pspell installed:

    1. Log into WHM
    2. Click Apache Update under Software
    3. Click Load Previous Config button
    4. Check Pspell Module and any other options you need
    5. Click Start Build

if it breaks something, follow 1-3 uncheck what you checked and click the Start Build Button

Do you have Cpanel/WHM on your VPS ? then you can install it through WHM.
WHM - Software - Apache Update

    Kindest regards,

    Thanks for that.

I tried the WHM route, but it doesn't appear to have made any difference. Pspell still isn't showing in phpinfo.

When the rebuild is doing it's stuff, it outputs the following:
    ./configure [@php-4.4.2]...(--with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --prefix=/usr/local --with-xml --enable-bcmath --enable-calendar --enable-ftp --enable-magic-quotes --with-mysqli --with-mysql=/usr --enable-discard-path --with-pear --enable-sockets --enable-track-vars --with-zlib).... . . . Done

Should this not include pspell, considering that I did check the pspell box?

Do you have aspell installed ? i believe according to some articles on cpanel.net that you need both, and could install it by:

    yum search aspell-en

    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....ghlight=pspell

Did you also check the output if it really didnt try to install it?

Wonder why support is not willing to help. Anyways you can always ask cpanel for support as they have included it in their WHM, you can create tickets with them, or ask the question at their forums (see link above).

    Kindest regards,
    Patrick
