VPS - basic hosting question - best practice

    Hi,

so I have all my account-sites working on my VPS with Interworx cp and the siteworx for those sites are working fine.. Thats all good.

But my supposed-to-be-main-site (myvpsdomain.com) is not quite good yet. I havent figured out how I am going to configure it... and where I should put my PHP files, MySQL databases etc.

Is the best way to do that to create a new account within nodeworx and name the account something like "myvpsdomain.com" and then just setup my main site as I did with my account-sites?

    Is that the best practice?

UPDATE: I was trying to add the account (myvpsdomain.com) in NodeWorx... but it gives me an error saying: » Zone already exists!

UPDATE QUESTION: How do I even add an email address to my main domain?

I hope you know what I mean... my English is not the best.

    BR

If the zone exists then you should already have that account created in siteworx. You should be able to just create the site like a regular account and add emails to it using the account login for that domain. Im guessing you have your vps hostname named the same as that main account and thats the confusion? Ask support to check it out for you and give them your root login. Thats going to be the fastest way to get you going instead of just guessing at it here.

    Yes, you were right.

I deleted the zone and created it again by adding a new regular account... now it seems to be fixed.

    Thanks for your reply.

Btw. I guess support couldnt figure out what I meant.. (I did submit this to support).
