    Question very low bandwidth

Is it just me on ulysses experiencing very low bandwidth (5-10 KB/s)???
I've read a DEHE thread, but I'm not a DEHE customer, yet I also get very low FTP traffic. I can upload with OK speed, but to download something from the server takes ages.

Hope it will get back to normal soon.

99,91% uptime here since 2006-08-08, and the download speed is 4KB/s right now...

Me too. My speed's been slow since yesterday when I'm trying to FTP something, but my site's speed is up/down all day. I sent in a ticket but they said it looks fine on their end, I don't know what to make of this. Plus all my system resources are fine.

Created a ticket 2 days ago about this issue, i know they did take the issue to the Datacenter where our VPS is located, but no update from the DC yet.

We saw the speed drop down after our server was offline for several hours on the 9th of september. After the server came back we noticed the slowdown at once and informed the support department in a ticket.

Sad it took us quite some time to convince the support employee that 10kb/s or 50kb/s as they got is not the speed you expect from an unmetered 4mbit connection.

Lucky the case is now being handled and hope it will be solved shortly.

    Kindest regards,
    Patrick

At the moment packet loss was over 77% seems to get a bit better now with the packet loss, but speeds still don't go over 30kb/s so i guess something is happening with the connection.

I am not on Uly but on Nova, so it seems to be more as one Server having problems. Guess the Datacenter will have to search for the device giving the problems.

Atleast our pages are being served, slow, but atleast not unreachable. I am sure this will be solved soon, and just wait till i got an update.

    Kindest regards,
    Patrick

p/s packet loss is now down to 10% but the past days i almost did not see any packet loss but did have slow speeds.

271 packets transmitted, 243 packets received, 10% packet loss

Speed seems to be improving now, earlier it was as low as 9 Kb/s, (normal is 170 Kb/s) now its 115 Kb/s not good, but a huge improvement and I can live with it for the time being.

I just tested the connection to 'my' server -- Platinum. I'm on a DS3 hookup, and it measured the bandwidth @ 83.49 KB/sec.

Normally, it's up in the 700's, soooo...

BTW, the 'uptime' in my sig is a realtime reading, over the last 30 days.

    Speed and Packet Loss

We are seeing the same issues on our dedicated as well as other servers and VPS addresses in the AtlantaNAP. We are down from 600KBS+ to about 105KBS. We are also seeing 8-10% packet loss. When we do the same tests to YAHOO.COM we are at 0 LOSS.

We have sent a number of requested traces and ping plots to the techs for GNAX to look at.

From a DEHE client to JAG Client... What were your speeds before the weekend from hell? We are use to seeing 600+ on the throughput with 0 packet loss... I really would like to KEEP that.

    Thanks

Well I currently have a VPS with DEHE, and one on order with JAG.

Prior to the "weekend from hell" I was maxing my home 24mbit connection out. Now I am lucky to achieve 60kb/s.

However I don't believe this is soley Jag or DEHE, as I took a read through the GNAX forums and it seems many people are having this issue at present.

So it isn't isolated to one or two hosts.

The faster they sort this out at gnax the better.

    Regards,

    Joel

I agree that everyone is having the issue. I just would like an update from either JAG or DEHE. There is nothing on either site telling us there is a problema and here is the satus.... blah blah

Also, was trying to find out what other people were seeing at the AtlantaNAP verse the downtown center. Would like to know that when this problem is fixed, we will at least see the same as downtown or "maybe" even better which would be nice.
