CP Restore of MySQL Database

Using JPC CP, I downloaded a backup of MySQL Database from our PHP/MySQL website on 21 Oct.

Yesterday our server crashed and after FSCK our website was restored and now our forums are missing two months of data missing. I was pretty damn happy to have backup (14MB) and tried CP Restore. The upload times out no matter what I do - IE7 and FireFox. I posted a trouble ticket on Jaguar...waited an hour for response to our Emergency ticket...nothing.

Help?

night & weekend support is kind of iffy around here, and they definatly don't read the forums until the day shift.

It's most likely timing out because the file transfer you are transferring to the server is so big. Transferring via HTTP (which is what the CP restore has to use really) doesn't work well for large things.

Your best bet is to upload the backup file to your server via FTP, SFTP, SCP, or whatever your preference for file transfer is, and then use a command line to restore it. I can't give you the exact commands off the top of my head, but someone from support, or one of the other folks on here should know how to do it.

Thanks for the help Matt. The file was FTP'ed into HTTP...used PhpMyadmin to import file...worked like a champ. Closing ticket.
