Arrow Can I disable mail per hour limit using Jaguar VPS?

    Hi all,

I'm attracted to Jaguar new offer, although I read a lot or not so good reviews (not negative but not so good) I don't know. Maybe I like the name. (or prices)

I have no problem with my previous host, they are good (and still are and I'm still with them). Just they have this 200+ per hour emails limit on a shared account. They suggest me to get a vps.

So, the jaguar promotion come in time.
I'm not looking to move all my site. I just want to install a new site and autoresponder script in the VPS. I've a 20K email list of people that I need to broadcast to weekly. (Not spam, all double opt in)

    My question is:

Do Jaguar PC have such limit on their VPS plan?

And can I disable this limit.

I also read some people have 98% uptime, although they don't mind, it's quite pathetic. I can stand 99% (which is already bad by decent host as big as Jaguar standard). Is it true 98% uptime?

I'm sorry to say this, but I like honest answer. How bad is bad Jaguar uptime? I can stand 99% but not lower

    And the last thing:

Can I do and setup my VPS as above (no mail limits)?

    Thanks

Well ive had a VPS with Jag for about 18 months now, and it has only been down once because of a reboot (which took about a minute). Of course there are times when hardware breaks.

No provider can tell you this wont happen ever, as it will do. So far no hardware has caused any downtime on my node, just a reboot to update the kernel. (Some people who write these "reviews" expect VPS to be just like shared and they dont need to do anything, and push the blame onto the provider when some of their software breaks).

I don't know about mail limits on a VPS. I doubt there is one, thought you'd probably want to limit yourself somewhere anyway, for various reasons (like not bringing the VPS to a crawl).

On shared there is such a limit. IIRC it is on 1000 mails / hour on most servers (after the first few weeks), but you can probably negotiate for a little more if you really need it (say 1500 / hour).

My VPS uptime at JaguarPC currently 99.87% (last 3 months)
    100% last 2 months!
