    Question Allow IPs?

Hi guys I'm very new here in VPS, I was using shared server but now I have VPS.

    My question is the following:

One of my clients for some reason last week had a problem with his outlook and it was causing BFD (Brute force detection) to block his IP so I have to go and unblock the IP everything that this was happening, and it was like 4 or 5 times a day so it was driving me crazy.

now that I'm using VPS is there any way to ALLOW his 5 IPs address so it doesn't matter what he does he's not going to get block? it's like make an exception on Firewall and BFD to allow his 5 IPs always even if he's trying to hack the server hahaha j/k but I don't want to be dealing with him all this week for the same problem.

    He has 5 Ips like 69.78.122.62 - 66

I need to make an exception with those IP's even if they are detected by BFD.
BTW what do I have to do if he gets block by BFD ? I don't know what do I have to do if this happen?

But the best solution for me is to make like a rule in the server that everything from those IPs has to be acepted..

Guys I will really appreciate if you can help me with this.

    Rgds,
    Cesar.

You can add the IPs in allow_hosts.rules in apf and the Ips will not be blocked again.

Smith can you please give me detailed instructions of how do I do that?

i.e. : Go to your VPS or WHM and then click on this option, then type this and then do this and that's it.

    Thanks Smith I'll be waiting..

    CEsar.

If you are running APF version 0.9.6 then you can simply login to your VPS via SSH and issue the following command:

    apf -a 69.78.122.62

which will add the IP in allow_hosts.rules file. However if you are running any other version and -a option is not available in apf then you can directly add the IP in /etc/apf/allow_hosts.rules file and restart the apf as service apf restart afterwards.
