    Is This Fine?

I was messing around with my new VPS for the last week before I transfered my sites over. For the last week I was running a small game server off this VPS and on average I used up 50% CPU and 7% Memory according to the 'top' command in linux.

Does this mean I was using 50% of the total server power or just my share?

Is this type of CPU usage allowed under Jag's terms?

I didn't have support or anyone else contact me about this being against the TOS so I am hoping it is legal.

That is very interesting question. Please pm me your node name or vps name and I can look into it.

Sent. I am trying to fill up server right now so you will see the CPU usage. Thanks Masood.

    Its up there now.

    Look at this page:

    http://www.serverspy.net/site/search...7.92:27015&g=0

Watch the players, when its around 20 it is average.

Currently with 20 players (out of 24 max) I am getting 37% usage and 1.6% memory.

At the node level your usage is about ~15% cpu, which is fine. No problem with memory either. Enjoy

You have absolutely no idea how awesome this is. You are going to give me double the servers I have now for the same price. I just need to convince somebody here to let me host at least a couple servers here in houston.

One last question. So is the CPU usage I am seeing in SSH the CPU usage of my share or of the entire server? Thanks Masood.

From what I see it is about half of the entire server (because of dual processor). BTW, your vps is in our Atlanta network.

So a single VE with a script in a loop can take 50% of the CPU of an entire VPS server?

Can a customer who is having resource issues request a restriction on his CPU allotment so that s/he doesn't have to move to dedicated?
    Good luck

Yes and more if they have more scripts.

No, because restricted CPU will make their vps unusable in this environment - it will come to a halt because of lack of CPU.

    Counter Strike 1.6. You can give it a try before it is taken down tonight at;

    69.73.187.90:27015

I am talking with my partners now, I think we will slowly move our dedicated box which hosts 4 games and move over to VPS servers here which will allow us to host 8 for the same price.
