    Unable to log into PowerPanel

Since my VPS went up, I've been having problems getting into PowerPanel.

One machine would log in, another wouldn't. So I knew the service was set up and working okay, and the problem was at my end.

I tried Firefox (my default), Opera and IE. Same thing - server not found.

I had just about reached the conclusion it was the software firewall (ZA Free), despite BOTH systems having the same firewall and same version. I was convinced I'd set up something stupid on one machine that was blocking it, and forgotten what I'd done.

But in one of those brief flashes of intuition, I just tried turning off Ad-Muncher.

    RESULT!

It turns out Ad-Muncher was also Munching the request to accept an unknown certificate for a secure login. Grrr.

So in a spirit of helping any other numpty who, like me, falls for this, if you can't get into PowerPanel, disable Ad-Munching type utils and see what happens.

And if you need any help from me, I'll be the red-faced one standing in the corner wearing the dunce's cap.

We need a picture as proof you admit to being a numpty wearing a Dunces cap (I already know, but we have to give the rest of JPC a giggle at your expense)

    I wish.

When I was that age, data input was done on punch or optical mark card, or ASCII paper tape, and the most common household computing device was a slipstick (slide rule).

Mind you, at least I'm younger than Rebel. I have it on good authority that his younger brother invented the abacus.

    Oh is this him?

A modern day user of the abacus!
