    Hi,

    Is Helm not configured at all, or you just need to add reseller account(s) and regular users? Let me know and I'll write something out for you based on that.

    Hi,

    There's nothing in it. Its not configured at all. Becuase there are no servers showing up etc. And wheni tried to run the Setup Wizard it also had some problem configruing itself and said that problems can be fixed using the Diagonsis but that also did'nt worked because in the list of servers there was no server to diagnose.

    Thanks.

    Alright. Once you login to Helm using username 'admin', go to 'System Settings' and click on 'Setup Wizard'. Click 'Next', enter 'Sales Contact Email' and 'Support Contact Email' and click 'Next' again. Select 'Communication IP' from the dropdown menu and click 'Next'. You should be on step 4 by this time. Set fields as following:

    for 'Web Service' select 'Microsoft IIS 6.0'
    for 'DNS Service' choose 'Microsoft DNS Server'
    for 'Default Name Server' enter primary nameserver and select one of the IPs
    for 'Optional Name Server' enter secondary nameserver and slecet one of the IPs
    for 'Mail Service' choose 'MailEnable'
    for 'FTP Service' choose 'Microsoft FTP'

    Click 'Next' and you should see something like:

    Congratulations! You have completed the Helm Setup Wizard. When you click 'Next' Helm will do the following:

    - Update your Administrative Password
    - Update your Sales Contact Email to 'email@domain.com'
    - Update your Support Contact Email to 'email@domain.com'
    - Create a new server called 'NAME' (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
    - Configure Helm with all available IP addresses
    - Create new resources for Web, DNS, Mail and FTP where applicable
    - Create a new Web Service using Microsoft IIS 6.0
    - Create a new FTP Service using Microsoft FTP
    - Create a new Mail Service using MailEnable
    - Create a new DNS Service using Microsoft DNS Server
    - Create a new Reseller Plan called 'Default Reseller Plan'
    - Create a new Reseller called 'DEFAULT_RESELLER'
    - Create a new Hosting Plan called 'Default Hosting Plan'
    - Create a new Customer called 'DEFAULT_CUSTOMER'
    - Create a package for 'DEFAULT_CUSTOMER'
    - Create a domain called 'testdomain.com'

    Just click 'Next' and it should be all good. Once that's done, I suggest you create users in your Helm panel. Please see http://www.dehe.com/showthread.php?t=191 about that. In case you face any further problems, be sure to let us know.

    Hi,

    When i clicked Next after entering all the info in Wizard i got this:

    Error
    Some problems with you setup we're encountered while configuring your server. This is most likely due to a a simple configuration problem that can be found and fixed using the Helm Diagnoisis Tool.

    Hi,

    When i checked Error Logs i got this:

    #Software: HELM Control System
    #Version: 3.2 Build 8
    #Date: 2006-01-16
    #Fields: date time source error
    2006-01-16 05:09:08 CSetup.PreConfigureEx 0-2147217677: Unable to add server. Can not obtain licence from server.{0}
    2006-01-16 05:43:57 CSetup.PreConfigureEx 0-2147217677: Unable to add server. Can not obtain licence from server.{0}
    2006-01-16 05:48:34 CSetup.PreConfigureEx 0-2147217677: Unable to add server. Can not obtain licence from server.{0}
    So i think there's something left and its not picking up the server properly and thats why it ain't working. Please check and fix. I have opened a support ticket too.

    How much time do you take to reply to a ticket ?

    Thanks.

    I see that Alex just replied to your ticket HAH-55062 with quite detailed information.

    As for the error you are receiving, RDP to your VPS and click on 'Helm Configurator' icon that is located on your Desktop. Then click on 'Update license' button and try to run the Wizard again.

    AvisSoft please make sure to keep all communication about this matter in the ticket, it doesn't help to discuss the matter in two different locations (that can only lead to miscommunication and confusion).

    Thumbs up

    I thought I'd mention that I had this problem as well, and updating the liscense data in the Helm Configuaration Tool through RDP took care of the problem. This was a very handy topic to find.
