    VZPP & BackUP

In our WinVPS VZPP panel there is a backup feature, which allows 1 full backup.

    1. Is it possible to have more than 1 full VPS backup?

    2. Where is that backup stored?
If it's stored remotely, then OK! If it's stored locally... is it on the same drive as the original data or another HDD? In other words, how safe our data is if the original VPS HDD fails (mechanical, data corruption, etc)?

    3. If the VPS is restored from that backup, will the VPS be 100% the same as it was on the backup date (general configuration, DNS, DBs, e-mail accounts, domains, clients, etc)?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi tonino,

    Let me answer your questions:

    1. No that is not possible.

    2. They are stored locally. Note that this backup feature isn't intended to prevent dataloss, this is mainly intended for usage when you are about to make a big change in a configuration. For instance, if you are going to upgrade your webserver and something goes wrong, if you have made a backup using this feature, you can easily change everything back to what it was before you made the changes.

In case you would like to make remote backups (and we always highly recommend to do so), we can offer you our remote backup space, however this is not included by default with your account. This costs only $5 per month per 10GB space, and you create (and restore) backups as often as you want. If you are interested in this option, please contact our sales department.

    3. Yes it literally makes a copy of the filesystem of your VPS as a whole, so everything will be as it used to be when you created the backup.
