    A Couple Questions

    Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of questions regarding my Linux VPS.

    1) If I was to set up a subdomain with phpmyadmin with superuser priviliges would I still be able to see and administer all my databases?

    2) I have seen on some sites that sell SSL Certificates that they are selling "wildcard" certificates. Now I know what one is but is there any point in getting one if you only want to secure a couple subdomains on one server. Also is there any company you guys would recomend to get a SSL Certificate from.

Oh yeah I have Plesk as my control panel.

    TIA
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

I've moved this ticket to the correct forum. Let me answer your questions:

    1. If you are referring to the MySQL privileges: then yes you should be able to see all databases.

    2. We are an SSL provider ourselves and are able to provide you with high quality Geotrust certificates at a low price. Wildcard certificates cost much more than regular certificates so unless you are looking to protect a whole lot of subdomains it might make more sense to get multiple 'single' certificates. But the disadvantage of that option is: each certificate requires a seperated IP. Currently SSL is not yet advertised on our website until we have worked out a couple of (technical) things, but if you are looking to order an SSL certificate please get in touch with our sales department.
