Plesk 8.0 ?

I was wondering, Why wouldnt dehe install Plesk 8 instead of 7.5.4 with new vps order? I got my vps this morning and quite surprised the Plesk installed is 7.5.4.

Any chance, Plesk 8.0 to be installed? or Is it still unstable with vps?

SWsoft hasn't released the Virtuozzo templates for Plesk 8 yet. There's always some time between the release of a new Plesk version and the release of the Virtuozzo template for it. Once the template is available it will be possible to upgrade.

Is it possible to upgrade the plesk without the intervention from the Node. Im saying, without using a template?

No, you should not attempt to do that.

Once we have Plesk 8.0 as a Virtuozzo template, we will definitely have your VPS upgraded. As of this moment, as Andre said, these Virtuozzo based templates are not ready yet.

I am going to get in touch with SWsoft on your behalf to see if they have any ETA on that. I'll update this ticket once I hear back from them.

Oh all right, thanks for that. Its just I thought Plesk is a standalone software that could be upgraded without having the node do the upgrade.

Plesk 8 template is still under testing and is expected to be released by the end of the month.

Alright, thought I'd give this thread a kick.

Plesk 8 template for Virtuozzo is out and it's working very nicely. All those who wish to have their Plesk upgraded to Plesk 8, please send an email to our support dept. and request this to be scheduled.

An official email about this will be sent to all customers using Plesk.
