Question Services going down for no reason?

    Hi guys,

Is there any reason why services (named and ftp) would go down on their own?

I emailed support about this and they really couldn't find a specific reason after checking my logs. It's kind of disturbing as now I feel I have to check my site all the time.

Just thought someone here might have an idea.

    Thanks,

    Ilan

P.S. Andre, incase you're interested, my ticket was PTZ-61460.

    Hi Ilan,

Shane was actually still checking on this and we found the problem. After the filesystem problem from last week we had to migrate all VPS's on this node to a new node (as per my announcement). This migration doesn't take any downtime, except a simple restart of the VPS.

Now the problem here appears to be that the services in question simply were not set to start at boot time - so they never went down, they simply were never started, which is also why we initially couldn't find anything in the logs. We have set these services to autostart at boottime now.

We have also provided the above information in the ticket.
