This is a discussion on whats with the support staff in the VPS & Dedicated forum
well when i signed up for a VPS plan I had to call support to see what was taking so long when i called when ...

    Exclamation whats with the support staff

    well when i signed up for a VPS plan I had to call support to see what was taking so long
    when i called when the guy answered the phone he was like "what?" then I said hello I is this JaguarPC? then hes like yes it is..I explained what I needed he then he like hold on Ill check he said this in a way that seemed like he was put out then i got my answer.

    once it was setup I emailed support to have clientexec set up.

    What is the username and password for the domain, also please make sure that shell is enabled for that account.

    I don't think support should be asking me for my username and password for my account I have never ask my for this sensitive information i think this is very unprofessional but i was in a hurry so i gave it to them i hit the reply button in my email (I guess i wasn't suppose to.. most ticket systems allow you to)
    I received this email from the support team and I found it to be a little rude (it might just be me but still)
    Hi,
    Ok, now I do not have the information that was in the other ticket, please always login to your billing account, to submit and reply to tickets.
    We need the username the main IP, the and the password, also the exact link or folder where you want this installed.

    I finally got it set up accept for the fact it wasn't set to the directory i asked it to be set up now i cant change it so i had to spend the time to redo all my links
    other than this issue the server has been great but this still bugs me

    First off the staff was asking me the url to install it to. It has been a while since I have used client exec but if I remember correctly since it is a leased license you have to have the exact url so this means I am unable to change it on my own.
    next who am I? well lets see hmm... let me think I am their client. As there client I should be able to have the script installed the the dir I asked it to be. Here is a quote you should be introduced to if you are going to run any type of business "the customer is always right. What the customer wants is what the customer gets"
    The main reason for this post was about how rude the staff was.
    and lastly are you saying I can't use proper grammar? well have you ever got through your mind there is a small chance English might not be my first language? well sir yes it is but still that doesn't allow you to go around making comments about peoples tyeing. go to and look at other topics even the owner uses improper grammar.

    wow i haven't heard anyone call me a loser since i was like in the 3rd grade
    buddy I was only replying to the accusations you were making.
    I did not make any rude remarks to the techs I was polite. If you were to me then i would have returned the favor but when someone is rude to me I return the favor
    what did you think I was not going to respond to you based on the fact that your header says Yeah, I know a LOT!
    you need to chill out buddy If that text pissed you off wow you have a short temper.. I could have been alot worst than that but I didn't I was try to keep it as professional as possible while still getting my point across. you want to see all the email between me and the tech let me know I will be happy to show you

    It's VIN's job to piss off the technically non-inclined. It keeps the riff-raff away. We'd pay him for it if it weren't illegal to do so.

    Jag doesn't have phone support, at least on the technical side. I don't know whats up since the merger with DEHE but use the ticket system. Everything works better if you use the ticket system and go one issue at a time. Sometimes you might have to break down the issue into individual tasks. I wouldn't trust anyone I've dealt with but smith and masood with anything more complicated then 'Press any key!'. So if you don't know exactly what needs to be done, step by step, ask for one of those two.

    While the server never goes down I've learned more about how to fix stuff at Jag then at any other host!

    And I don't know why they ask for passwords either. With my first account they sent my personal password in the clear over email to me. I almost dropped Jag right then and there. And every ticket since, unless they're on the dream team(smith and masood), they ask for passwords. I think its the contractor support techs just gathering data to screw us up if jag pisses them off in any way.

    I REALLY don't like the combination of contracted support and the passing of passwords. I don't even know how many people across the planet know the passwords of my clients accounts nor do I know their situations or intentions.

    I'd better stop, I'm getting more worried the more I think about it.

    ha at least I know what im talking about iv been doing this kind of stuff for 8 years now. I like to use simply talk on forums as not to confuse people reading that are dyslexic I also to have a habit of pissing people off just ask my ex's ha I think VINs going to have some competition on this forum now

    I wasn't trying to get phone support I was trying to find out why sales hasn't set up my hosting yet.

    I don't like any tech support I used to be one..and all the other host I have I never contacted tech support. The only reason why I did this time was to set up my client exec which I ordered. I could have installed it myself faster but Jag don't let you. I don't know if I mentioned it this series of events took place last weekend so it wasn't long ago. I would have posted sooner but have been really busy
    hey if I had not dealt with the other host that I had the I would have just canceled my order and went else where that the only point I'm trying to get across.

    Jag has some of the best uptime record I have seen. I had a host at one point the server was only up 1 hour a day. that is the truth. good old OSS.

    Hey VIN heres a question for you. Is 2 post a new record or something? I hope it is. That way I can add it to my list of accomplishments.

    Was he actually asking for your account password? Or did he ask you to specify a admin username and password to setup that clientexec with?

    yu did njot call support, there is no phone support, you called Sales, however they should have been more professional. Did you get the name of the person Helping you?

    How in the hell are they suppose to install software for you if they cant access your VPS? they dont record, or keep records of the Passwords any VPS, they would be Unprofessional and a major security hole, You have to provide ANYONE, a developer, support person, anyone that you want to have access to your VCPS with the Password. that is like asking a Plumber to fix a Leak in your house with out allowing him inside

    So your Bothered they asked for the Password, but you have no problems sending in UNSECURE email? then complain that is does not work properly

    the Ticket System in under SSL Encryption for a REASON. Email should NEVER EVER be used in the fashion you just did. Use the SECURITY of the ticket system

    I have been doing "this kind of stuff" now for ohh 15+ years nows. based on your Posts, I would say you have been doing this for less than a year though....

    I feel sorry for anyone that buy hosting at your company (I assume your goingto sell hosting because you had client exec installed)

    If your soooo good with this stuff, why didn't you just ask for the Files and install it your damn self

    Gwaihir He first asked for a spacific admin then he emailed me 3 times telling me he was having trouble logging in so he told me he needed my root password.

    I accept ron ha

    ok VIN shouldn't be the most hated it should be the_ancient
    as i stated in a couple post back I was aware that it was sales

    Well doesn't Jag still own the server? that means they have access they have to there not just going to set up the accounts on there servers and not have some sort of access to it.
    like i stated before I used to be a tech support for a couple companies in the past. I do know what I am talking about.

    no sir/mam I DID NOT send my password through my email (btw it too is SECURE as it is gmail)
    the only thing I sent through email is telling them that yes Shell is enabled

    I cant change it based on the licenses has to be set for a certain dir or else it will not work.

    I have been doing "this kind of stuff" now for ohh 15+ years nows. based on your Posts, I would say you have been doing this for less than a year though....

    I feel sorry for anyone that buy hosting at your company (I assume your goingto sell hosting because you had client exec installed)

I can be real tech.     If you have a VPS or Dedicated environment only YOU and those you give access to can get in (unless you hack it but that is another topic). Jag can Remove/Restore the VPS, but they cant modify it unless you allow them access by giving them the password.

    A VPS is a VIRTUAL server. You more or less OWN that VIRTUAL environment. You control the access. Not Jag.

    OMG, do you even know how email is sent? I dont care if Google Uses SSL for their silly webmail it is NOT secure

    If that is the case then Client Exec needs to redo thier Lic protection, It should be based on the Host Name. not the Dir.

    Why would I use a Jag Reseller when I already host with Jag directly?

    for a couple of reason. I have installed it many times before. some of use do have jobs and don't have the time to set it up when I needed it done or to sit on this site all day to wait for a post to show up just to reply

    trust me dude I was L2 support not l1 I am aware of Virtualization and how it works. all other host I have worked for have had some sort of access to the VPS for one reason or another. Y
    yes sir I am aware of how email is sent. I made that statement to prove that ssl don't do anything they can still be hacked. I know for a fact this is possible. when iI went to school I was required to take classes on how to hack that stuff.
    I wasn't referring to have you as a client I was making a statement that you cant really judge me based on typing in a forum. I reserve the right to refuse service to who I want and you my friend would be on my list to refuse service.

    I was in no way referring to SSL Hacking/Cracking/ or anything related to those subjects. The fact you think I was only Reinforced my point that you dont know jack. Maybe your School educated you beyond your intelligence
