    packet loss on mystic.nocdirect.com

I have observed stable packet loss on mystic.nocdirect.com during last few weeks (as minimum , after my vps had been migrated to new host).

Accordingly few monitoring tools such as https://www.bello-monitors-the.net average packet loss per day is about 0.1-1% almost every day.

This lost is not critical, but a subject to repairing, isn't it?

Download WinMTR and use that -- it may show WHERE the packet loss is occuring.
    Good luck

Great advice for jaguarpc support. Another way is to ask ME, where is?:

traceroute to yahoo.com (216.109.112.135), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
    1 mystic.nocdirect.com (69.73.181.105) 0.100 ms
    ===== 10% PACKET LOSS HERE, IT'S ALREADY 2 DAYS ======
    2 209.51.131.89 (209.51.131.89) 10.351 ms

Also I know that packet loss in outgoing (from VPS to outside) stream probably due to overloaded channel.

One thing thing is unknown for me Where is jaguarзc support? Sleeping, Drinking, Eating? what else?

Attending to support tickets? You should follow this up in the ticket system primarily..

Support ticket is open and redirected to mystic L2 level. But nothing happens.

Next question trouble me now, What about my monthly payment refund? Does 3 days of 10-15% packet loss is sufficient to claim refund?

I am also seeing a 23-25% packet loss for about a week. Now I don't not know if it is worth me opening a ticket myself or not.

Awalsh: definately! Packet loss *somewhere* is not something a tech is likely to stumble upon and fix unless you get them traceroutes. Also, as it will often not be on JagPCs own network, but somewhere else along the way, you really need to give the techs as much ammunition as you can gather to take to whoever's switches are misconfigured or overloaded.

    Hrm...

I've been following this thread with interest! Usually stuff like this turns out to be the result of an extended syn attack -- or some such thing. However, this has been going on for a while, so I'm sure 'they' would have discovered something obvious, like this, by now.

I measured it the other night, to see if it was localized, and got 1%-9% packet loss every time, so I can confirm that the problem does exist.

The outgoing packet loss is what mystifies me...

It might sound silly, but maybe someone at the NOC needs to get a 'visual' on this server, i.e. make sure there isn't a bad cable or something rudimentary causing the packet poss.

Anyway, this is an interesting situation, no?

    Interesting! Collisions, maybe...

Yes, that would explain the 'two-way' problem...
