    Vps Dns

I just purchased a Windows Starter VPS Package. It's all set up, shiny and new. I logged in to GoDaddy where I have my domain name registered to update the DNS records to point to my new VPS (after creating the domain in Plesk on my VPS). When I try to update the DNS records I receive an error that says "errors were detected". Any ideas? I've changed my DNS records through GoDaddy before and never had a problem, so I'm guessing this has to do with the VPS and the DNS Server on it. Is there something else I need to do? I'm not new to developing websites, but the DNS stuff has never been something I've messed around with, so they're a little foreign to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using GoDaddy as your DNS provider, JPC, or are you running your own DNS server on your VPS? What information did you provide to GoDaddy to cause that error? For example, did you enter a new DNS server, a host (or A) record, or something else?

I simply used GoDaddy to purchase the domain name. I'm running a DNS Server on my VPS and was trying to update the Nameservers info with GoDaddy to point to NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM and NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM (using my real domain name, not the words MYDOMAIN). I've never had any problems before and use GoDaddy to purchase many domain names. Hope that helps. I'm still confused as to the problem.

That did it, thanks! I wasn't aware of having to register the nameservers privately with GoDaddy before I could use them as the nameservers for my domain.

On a side note, somebody should update the GoDaddy tutorial since they've updated their interface and moved things around a bit.
