Root + FTP?

Is there a way to log into FTP with root and access any/all accounts?


i tried using server as my ip for my vps, then my root username and my pw....and it says authentication failed...


any ideas?

Don't do that, its a security risk.

FTP transfers passwords in clear text, root access is disabled for your own protection.

The proper way to do it is to use SFTP which is encrypted.

I suggest you go chance your password now.
