VPS Webmail Software

I can't say that I'm a big fan of Horde and it's interface. Unfortunately it seems to be the only webmail software on my server. Can I install other packages for this? If so, are there any recommedations?

It is not clear if you are using any control panel, but in any case you can install other webmail software e.g. squirrelmail (http://www.squirrelmail.org) or roundcube (http://roundcube.net)

You can even install pine and use it via ssh

If you have got Horde, then it means you have php/MySQL with plesk control panel. squirrelmail and roundcube may work for you. You can try them.
