    VPS Crashes At Night!!

    hellooo,

I'm on the discovery VPS plan (the special offer one) and have plesk running. I think this started happening around 4-5 days ago, but I've noticed in the morning after having been asleep my VPS isnt active, well to be specific, DNS and qmail are down according to virtuozzo, my timezone is GMT so whether you guys perform some kind of backups or something that could be making my vps services crash(DNS) while im asleep I don't know. My site is in no way resource sucking, in fact its barely active, i use around 20mb of space for it and gets not even 100mb of bandwidth per month. So I dont know what could be up?

Please open a support ticket from your client area so this could be looked at. However I am a little surprised why do you need a VPS if your usage is so low? Do you need root access for something?

    Discussed about it here:
    Virtuozzo Kernel issue ?

Look like many people have this problem.

    Will do.

Well my original plan was to host my design customers on it, but ive found most of them would rather host it their own sites elsewhere. Plus I like being able to test my scripts out and stuff and not have to worry about pre-server-config because i can just change everything. It's not that more than shared hosting, so I figured why not, is there a rule against having a VPS that isnt really used?

No rule You can buy any hosting plan you like. I just thought may be you do not need a vps and can be better served on a shared hosting account. But now you have explained, it makes sense and in fact is one good reason to get a vps.
