how to setup a reseller account with a different IP

    Hi,

I have a VPS and I want to create a reseller account, is the first time that I am going to do it and I want to assign him a different IP address from the main IP.

I set up the new account in WHM, but in a DNS Test I get this warning:

Mail server host name in greeting

WARNING: One or more of your mailservers is claiming to be a host other than what it really is (the SMTP greeting should be a 3-digit code, followed by a space or a dash, then the host name). If your mailserver sends out E-mail using this domain in its EHLO or HELO, your E-mail might get blocked by anti-spam software. This is also a technical violation of RFC821 4.3 (and RFC2821 4.3.1). Note that the hostname given in the SMTP greeting should have an A record pointing back to the same server. Note that this one test may use a cached DNS record.

domain1.com claims to be host server.domain2.com [but that host is at 69.73.XXX.XXX (may be cached), not 69.73.XXX.XXY].

    What should I do?

    Thanks,

    WHPNet

That happens in all cPanel/WHM systems. Its because exim is setup by cPanel in a way that will always answer requests and identify itself as the main domain.

This was solved by editing your /etc/exim.conf and adding a few custom lines.
