Hello again people! I need some help/guideness about dns stuff.
When I bought the first vps, I get 3 ips. Ok till here. I said to my registrar to
make 2 A records ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com pointing my 2 ip to them.
All fine. All clients' domains and all our domains are pointing these 2 nameservers
and whm/cpanel is taking care of the rest.
Now, I bought another 2 vps and have a weird issue.
I wanted to add them as third level domains under my main domain example:
firstserver.domain.com and secondserver.domain.com.
And I dont know how to make them create domains under their domain.
I firstly thought that if I write a A record for the new server
and then a firstserver IN NS record.
But it didnt work. I dont know why and if this is wrong or not.
Then I tried to make a new zone server.domain.com under the named.com
and add again the IN NS records to see if will work.
Again nothing.
Then I thought a temporary solution, to create a "reverse" master/slave zone.
master in the new vps and the slave in the "main" vps. It worked but only
for the first name, eg: firstserver.domain.com. If i want to create something
under it, eg webmail.firstserver.domain.com it doesnt pass to the main vps...
So, useless again.
Anyway, I am confused about making it work. Any ideas how to make third level
domains to be controlled by the new vps ?
Regards,
Chris
