-w is the switch to activate FXP transfers for authenticated usewrs with PureFTP. Anyone know how to make this the default setting for a cPanel restart of PureFTP?
I searched and looked and give up... haha I am not running a .conf file for PureFTP.
This is a discussion on FXP with PureFTP & cPanel in the VPS & Dedicated forum

Check /etc/pure-ftpd.conf and change the line from :
AllowUserFXP no
to
AllowUserFXP yes
and restart the FTP server as:
service pure-ftpd restart
On cPanel there is an option AllowUserFXP in /etc/pure-ftpd.conf, it is set to no by default.

Thank you..... Duh? How did I miss that. Should have used locate..... I thought I was using the recommended command line version on the VPS.
Oh well thanks again, now it is in the public record at least here on the forum.
Masood - if you are reading this, I read that using FXP could be a security risk? I have it set only to use FXP with authenticated users - it is that okay and safe to use this way?
