    Incorrect Reverse DNS entry

    Hello all,

I recently got setup with a nice bargain bin dedicated server, everything is fine except for my reverse DNS entry. Being no DNS expert I used webmin to create a reverse entry, however when i lookup the reverse entry (on dnsreport for example) it shows a different hostname.

I presume that this must be the entry from a Jag client that used the IP address before me. Now my question is, is there anything I can do to fix this or do I need to contact support? (I think I do as it is their nameservers that report the hostname, but I'm not sure).

Any help would be really appreciated

    Thanks

    Andrew

You need to open a ticket and ask them to setup the Reverse DNS for you. Because its a two-step process, first you set it on your system (via your control panel for example) and then Jag must also update their own DNS servers.

Thanks for the replies, did not want to open a ticket to find out it was some silly mistake of mine, and yes that was lightning fast. Refreshed and there were 2 replies.
