Sending vbulletin mail from another domiain

Hi all.

Just a question, does anyone have experience sending mail from another domain through their VPS? My friend cant send mail through his host at the moment due to sendmail being dead, we are trying to get it from his domain/vbulletin to my VPS mail via smtp.

I assumed i give him my server I.P, a name(mine?) pass(mine?) and port 25 is open, smtp enabled in vb, i can do this on my own version of vb on this domain but not for him. Is there something blocking outside connections i have missed?
