Right now, as I am typing this, I am literally crying in anger and frustration. I have a large website that receives thousands of hits a day, and is my main revenue source. I have recently decided to move to JaguarPC after reading positive reviews. Here is my experience that has caused me to lose thousands of hits, and hundreds of dollars:
Timeline
2007-10-13 / 11:39:47 - 1st day of ordering the VPS, my server helium.nocdirect.com goes down.
2007-10-13 / 11:59:12 - Tech support claims it is up and running fine.
2007-10-13 / 12:50:17 - Still down, I complain.
2007-10-13 / 13:21:07 - Finally back up.
2007-10-15 / 22:28:10 - Server down... again.
2007-10-15 / 23:51:02 - Back up, I complain how unreliable this server is, ask for server node change.
2007-10-15 / 23:59:19 - Tech support claims this server is reliable and "very stable".
2007-10-16 / 00:51:16 - Server DOWN AGAIN.
2007-10-16 / 00:51:16 - Server fixed, it was some problem with the motherboard with the server.
2007-10-16 / 19:19:10 - Server is up, BUT I CAN NOT log in to Plesk or VZPP. Tech says they can't figure out the problem, and is now contacting SWsoft. This totally cripples me, because I still have not gotten a chance to upload my databases from my old server.
2007-10-17 / 01:27:19 - After a ****ing day they fix it.
2007-10-17 / 09:37:54 - Whoohoo, I get home and finally get ready to finish migrating my site from my old server. Oh wait... FTP is down! Oh wait... the WHOLE SERVER IS DOWN.
2007-10-17 / 10:29:10 - Tech support tells me they were having raid issues and are rebuilding the array or whatever...
Okay, so I guess I'll wait. Hopefully, soon it will be back up and I will be able to restore my database and reopen my site.
BUT WAIT!
I GET THIS EMAIL! LOL IS THIS A JOKE?!
ALL DATA HAS BEEN LOST. SO, I HAVE TO RE-UPLOAD 4GB WORTH OF STUFF?! AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MOVE ME TO A DIFFERENT ****ING NODE?!"The VZ node Helium.nocdirect.com your vps is
hosted on had some problems yesterday and in the
last week. We did a memory test which came through
fine, then moved the hard drives to completely new
hardware to isolate any further hardware issues.
After a few hours, the raid array failed and we
started an array rebuild. Unfortunately, the
rebuild had problems and the data was lost.
We are now in the process of setting up your vps
on a new node. The datacentre engineers are trying
to get the helium server back up, but data looks
unrecoverable at the moment. We sincerely
apologize for the inconvenience caused due to
this.
Honestly, this is the WORST experience I have EVER had with ANY host. I have lost hundreds of dollars in revenue, and it's been days since my site has been functioning fully. My site members are getting frustrated, I'm getting frustrated, and honestly, I am crying right now.
I am seriously considering requesting compensations for this outrageous series of unfortunate events.
Please, somebody help me.![]()
