The WORST Hosting Experience with JaguarPC

Right now, as I am typing this, I am literally crying in anger and frustration. I have a large website that receives thousands of hits a day, and is my main revenue source. I have recently decided to move to JaguarPC after reading positive reviews. Here is my experience that has caused me to lose thousands of hits, and hundreds of dollars:

    Timeline

2007-10-13 / 11:39:47 - 1st day of ordering the VPS, my server helium.nocdirect.com goes down.

2007-10-13 / 11:59:12 - Tech support claims it is up and running fine.

    2007-10-13 / 12:50:17 - Still down, I complain.

    2007-10-13 / 13:21:07 - Finally back up.

    2007-10-15 / 22:28:10 - Server down... again.

2007-10-15 / 23:51:02 - Back up, I complain how unreliable this server is, ask for server node change.

2007-10-15 / 23:59:19 - Tech support claims this server is reliable and "very stable".

    2007-10-16 / 00:51:16 - Server DOWN AGAIN.

2007-10-16 / 00:51:16 - Server fixed, it was some problem with the motherboard with the server.

2007-10-16 / 19:19:10 - Server is up, BUT I CAN NOT log in to Plesk or VZPP. Tech says they can't figure out the problem, and is now contacting SWsoft. This totally cripples me, because I still have not gotten a chance to upload my databases from my old server.

    2007-10-17 / 01:27:19 - After a ****ing day they fix it.

2007-10-17 / 09:37:54 - Whoohoo, I get home and finally get ready to finish migrating my site from my old server. Oh wait... FTP is down! Oh wait... the WHOLE SERVER IS DOWN.

2007-10-17 / 10:29:10 - Tech support tells me they were having raid issues and are rebuilding the array or whatever...

Okay, so I guess I'll wait. Hopefully, soon it will be back up and I will be able to restore my database and reopen my site.

    BUT WAIT!

I GET THIS EMAIL! LOL IS THIS A JOKE?!

"The VZ node Helium.nocdirect.com your vps is
hosted on had some problems yesterday and in the
last week. We did a memory test which came through
fine, then moved the hard drives to completely new
hardware to isolate any further hardware issues.
After a few hours, the raid array failed and we
started an array rebuild. Unfortunately, the
rebuild had problems and the data was lost.

We are now in the process of setting up your vps
on a new node. The datacentre engineers are trying
to get the helium server back up, but data looks
unrecoverable at the moment. We sincerely
apologize for the inconvenience caused due to
    this.
ALL DATA HAS BEEN LOST. SO, I HAVE TO RE-UPLOAD 4GB WORTH OF STUFF?! AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MOVE ME TO A DIFFERENT ****ING NODE?!

Honestly, this is the WORST experience I have EVER had with ANY host. I have lost hundreds of dollars in revenue, and it's been days since my site has been functioning fully. My site members are getting frustrated, I'm getting frustrated, and honestly, I am crying right now.

I am seriously considering requesting compensations for this outrageous series of unfortunate events.

    Please, somebody help me.

Massood will be the best person to contact. He is Head of support. He should hopefully be able to sort out the mess.

I am sorry for what you have experienced but Jag really is a good company.

We certainly don't joke about such matters. I absolutely guarantee you are not nearly as frustrated as we are with the problems this machine threw at us. The server itself has been total replaced now and staff members are working at getting all the vps's setup to get everyone back on their feet as fast as possible.

Certainly open a ticket about this with sales dept and we will make sure you are taken care of. We want more than anything to start immedately at rebuilding your trust in our services and making things right.

unfortunately, i had the same experience when the shared hosting server i used for some of my sites died completely, i believe i lost one or two months of data because there wasn't a more recent backup.

still, i kept my faith (i had great experience with Jag in the past) and paid for a VPS and some extra shared hosting accounts spread across Jags network.

i'm glad i did so, services have been running smoothly for several months, uptime is currently well over 120 days on all the servers and overall support is great.

i suggest you contact sales for compensation, i didn't so i never got any, but you have nothing to loose.

What I'm more worried about right now is getting my new VPS info. How long does it take to set it up?! The clock is ticking, my site is still down, and I'm losing more and more.

I've bitched loudly in the forums before about lousy Jag support incidents. I too, have had several encounters I consider unacceptable. On a couple of occasions, I was very close to packing up my bags and looking for another provider.

But...I've been here since before they took over Aletia (5 years?), and have yet to leave. I've hosted several domains here, and have experienced Gigadeal, SDX, and now dedicated hosting on a bargain bin. What I've come to realize, is they do an excellent job - overall.

It's tough for you to see that, given that your first experience with them is so negative. You can either believe folks who have seen them day in and out over a long period of time, or you can take your single bad incident as an omen, and boogie on outta here.

The decision is of course yours, and nobody is going to fault you either way.

Yea, well if my account isn't set up in a few hours, I will go host hunting again.

edit: Finally set up... I'll keep this thread updated on what's going on.

Unfortunately, machines, software, and men can fail from time to time. I know what you are going through is frustrating, but it could happen with any host.

As hard as it is hang in there. I think you will be glad you did.

I've been here around 6 years. I can assure you that the Support team is doing everything they can do to get you back online.

overall JPC is a great host... there service is great and the hardware is great.. where they lack at times is in the sales end with the manual setup of VPS accounts... since the other accounts are all setup automatically you do not have to go through what you would if you were on a VPS or dedicated.. but after the initial woes of getting the account up, everything is excellent.. so anyone else who is having this same thing happening to them.. just be patient and it will all pay off once they get your account up..

My environment is still not set up...can we get an update from support about when they expect everyone who had an account on this server to be back up, and how much data they had backed up?

Also, I didn't even get the email that was copied above, so if not for this thread, I'd have no idea what's going on. Some communication about this issue from support would be much appreciated.

    Hello?!?!?

lpxxfaintxx has lost thousands of hits, and hundreds of dollars already!

I'm not making this up... look at the OP!

What do you want him/her to do - go bankrupt?
