I am aware that problems arise that are beyond our control, I want to know if this is the case here. I just moved over and this is making me re-think my decision Can I get some re-assurance from the veterans of the forum.

My domains on adrastea are also affected. I submitted a ticket and the response was that there is no ETA and to keep tabs on the thread mentioned above.

When I saw the various servers going down over the past few weeks, I pleaded to the gods - please, oh please, not to me - doh, guess it didn't work. Been down for the past few hours and still counting.

This is not cool, they been down for over 8 hours... If there is a problem with a rack and not the servers, would it not make sense to move the servers to another rack?

Unfortunately, that falls under the "How long is a piece of string?" category. If the techs have found that a couple of the servers in a rack have lost network, the obvious solution is to try to fix the network connection problem. If they had found the rack venting smoke, the obvious solution would have been to get the servers in it powered down and out of there quick.

Moving servers to another rack isn't as simple as pulling a few plugs and slipping them into a different rack, powering up and going for lunch - There's a whole bunch of config changes to make, routing traffic to IPs, etc., and then more potential delays if the servers require a FSCK etc as they come back up.

Hang in there Redemption - The guys on the floor always seem to know what's the right thing to do, and will be getting on with it. They'll be well versed in dealing with a routine (but rare) situation such as this.

If the i-Rack is unstable, shouldn't we put more things in the i-Rack?
    Good luck
