Just wondering if we are going to see some restitution. I checked the SLA, and it only provides for refunds in the case of NOC or Network outages, but 14 hours is kinda ridiculous.

Unfortunately many of us have been down fo a lot more than 14 hours and we are all wondering the same, Draco was down 70 hours last week Yes 70 and its been down for 40 something hours this weekend as well.
Though the policies only officially provide for network downtime, Jag has been known to offer compensation in cases of extreme hardware failure. Just open a ticket and ask--the worst they can say is "no."

no amount of compensation can return your customer to you. the middle level hosts like small enterprises who heavily depend on shared vps will be the worst hit. they are hit from jag and customers. exarkun is down from yesterday and it is about 24 hours now. the back-up stalled between 80 and 83% for 5 hours. great job indeed. but strangely only a couple of voices so far. each vps should at least have 30 people. that means people use these cheap vpss for back-up service, which is not affected by even 72 hours downtime. a lesson to be learned.

This appears to be normal, if you check the other threads you'll see the same thing happened to them. There was another thread discussing this, I believe there was response from tech support that replied. The gist of it was the % is based on tasks but each task does not take the same amount of time. You might have X amount of tasks that go quiclky so the % will increase rapidly but then hit one that takes longer than the first five so it will come to crawl.
The last 20% of a VPS node restore is where the actual data for the VPSs is put back - About 200 gigs of the stuff. It grinds along a bit slower to the low 90%s and then theres a speedup again for the last few %. So when you see it taking 3 hours to get through 1%, don't assume that that means it will take 300 hours to do the whole job.
Personally, I think Jag should put a webcam in front of the node's screen so we can all watch the percents drift by![]()

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.
My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.
