Anyone else seeing problems on new fangorn server?

Is anyone else seeing problems on the replacement (draco) server fangorn?

According to my monitoring sevice it had problems at 4am (UK time) and cpsrvd failed @ Fri Nov 30 04:04:38 2007. A restart was attempted automagically

Then a short time ago just over 30 minutes to be precise

    PROBLEM Alert
    Service: HTTP
    URL: www.digi-darkroom.com
    State: CRITICAL
    Date/Time: 2007-11-30 17:52:44 GMT

    Best regards,
    MON.ITOR.US Team.

I have currently got no access to any of my sites on my VPS in addition I have no Virtuosso Whm or Cpanel and I am waiting for support to get back to me after submitting a ticket a short while ago.

My question is am I the only one with this happening or are other people experiencing similar issues?

Interestingly, Fanghorn doesn't exist on the Network Status page, and doesn't ping, but Draco does (both) which suggests the node is up and (just) your VPS is down (and Jag haven't gotten around to updating the name for the node).

You need to have a look (or ask support to) to see if any of your sites are "beating the drums too loud" once the VPS is back. Also, are there any cron jobs around the time(s) it failed?

Have you tried logging on via SSH and issuing a cpanel restart?

By the way, although mon.itor.us gave a good call this time, are you aware that they're actually located in Dusseldorf, Germany? You may be liable to a few bad calls if they're checking all that distance across the big pond ... a .US TLD means US registered, not necessarily US hosted

Yeah! Welcome to the new Draco. I can predict what its going to be: 3 days for October 31 backup restoration, then another two days for FSCK.

OH please! let us hope not. That will make 3 weekends in a row now.

You are all nice folks but I like it better when I never have to visit this forum.

Well I joined the Draco squad on Fangorn as of last night. I just purchased my second VPS here with Jag to use it for backups and other misc tasks... I have not noticed any issues yet, hope that stays true

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.

My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.

Although JPC-Alex has just posted those dreaded words, don't presume the worst yet. New nodes, like new VPSs and new home PCs, all need a few tweaks before they're entirely stable .... hang in there!

    Good luck!!

EDIT: And JPC-Greg is already all over it

    Now that's customer care!

Haha I see that Euro, but I can assure you, IT WASN'T ME! I had only changed my root login and pointed a domain to it before I had to leave for work.

If its of any interest or consequence before the latest crash I noticed a site called JAGTEST was listed amongst my accounts on my VPS, this site is nothing to do with me and I intended to mention it to support but never got around to it.

The address was www.jagtest.com which I believe is still active, yet it was showing on my VPS as being created by root I assumed it was ceated by support but with the latest issues I am starting to wonder if that was the case or if there is a crosslinked file/account somewhere.

One other point I'd like to ask, I thought VPS's were supposed to be independant of each other, so one VPS shouldnt be able to crash another let alone an entire server?
