    Ain't it just a gzipped tar? In which case most modern (un)zip utilities will do the job.

    Also, your domain name is kinda rude to my English eyes.

    Vin's just being a type of rope splice used to join two lines in the rigging of ships.

    To answer your original question, the only thing I can find is this forum post at spry. You'll need something like cygwin to get it to work on XP.

    OK, I get the reference to homoluden's nick and the other post, but I can't figure out the splice reference.

    If you are referring to a butt splice, do they use that in rigging?
