    Problems at JAG today?

Trying to get timely responses to support tickets is like pulling teeth today... it's not normally this bad. So instead I'll ask here if anyone else is seeing horrible speeds to their VPS and/or the Jag network?

Everything is up and functioning, but at 9600 baud dialup speeds. My VPS, this forum, the support ticket system. No problems connecting to other web resources.

Here are 50 iterations of WinMTR showing the traceroute and where the drops occur. What I don't know is where the datacenter starts versus what is upstream and out of their control:

That traceroute shows your problem is at ui-iccn.org
    Good luck

Posted to my inquiry at WHT:

This is a different issue that is due to Global Crossing issues at GNAX. GNAX is saying if the issue isn't fixed by 2pm EST they are going to shutdown the Global Crossing link.
(if you see my chart above, yes there are some issues with ui-ccn.org, but the major problems start with 64.209.108.230 which is global crossing).

The system should be switching you to an alternate carrier unless it has determined that Global Crossing is the fastest route for you - in which case you may have to wait until the Global Crossing route is fixed / shut down. You could try rebooting your router etc etc see if that helps.

My "Alerts" inbox is stuffed with false alarms today from my 2 remote monitors that check my boxes at Jag. (Thanks goodness I'm at home and turned off SMS alerts! LOL). One monitor is in on a box in San Antonio, TX, the other in Herndon, VA. The third monitor I run in the USA is actually on a dedicated box with Jag, and it's behaving nicely.

atl-core-a-g3-1.gnax.net and atl-core-g-g1-6.gnax.net appear to be the 2 routers on the outer edge of the data-center - Yesterday morning they were swapping packets like crazy because they had nowhere else to send them.

I'm not complaining or raising a ticket simply because I'm putting it down to the aftermath of yesterday's AtlantaNAP disaster and whatever maintenance and remedial work they're doing in GNAX to clean up after the mess and make sure that things are put right.

Besides - The Dream Team fully deserve a break after the work they all did yesterday to get everything put right after they got dumped on from a dizzy height. You gotta hand it to Jag support for their performance yesterday - I can only think of one word for it ... outstanding!

Everything JagPC Atlanta is terribly slow from here as well. Cause seems to be lots of package loss inside the GNAX systems. I'm routed in via pccwbtn, not global crossing. I sure hope they get their act back together soon. Sorry techs, that much deserved relaxed weekend isn't starting just yet.

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.

I'm coming in through pccwbtn as well and everything is snappy for me. I haven't been hitting my sites much today, but I've been on the forums quite a bit and haven't noticed any problems.

Pings are running an average of about 45ms over 10 hops.

I had some problems earlier and in fact one traceroute showed packet loss at 60%, but a ticket to support seems to have helped and while its not fast, it is reasonable and I can live with that.

Well I couldn't help but notice all the people on WHT complaining about the speeds from the NAP...

I was slugging along until a couple of hours ago, and now I must say I am getting some of the best speeds I have ever seen from GNAX!

We will see how long this lasts

    Thank you...

For the #1 dumbest thread I've read in my (almost) 5 years here!

Oh Frank, can't you spot a compliment when it's thrown right at you? Vin was marveling at those posting in here with an IQ of 140+ ... You should apologise to Vin, right now!
