need to install cURL and PHP 5

I need to get cURL setup on my VPS. Is this something that JPC will do? I only write some simple validation type scripts occasionally and would prefer the experts do this.

Secondly, I was considering having PHP 5 installed at the same time. The sites I host are a mix of small vanilla Joomla and static types and I'm not sure what to look for to prevent them from breaking. Any opinions?

What control panel, if any, are you using?

If you are using cPanel/WHM it is VERY simple!

Go down to the software section and choose apache update...

Next select the desired basic options and then hit the advanced button and chooce cURL/cURL SSL...

Then choose BUILD! Wait around about 20 mins or less and you are set!

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.

My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.

Boom! Worked great. Probably wouldn't have had the courage without your advice (and a few cool ones).

    Thanks

NP! I too had to install cURL last night... I could have swore I already installed it a while back, but for some reason when I went to switch from ClientExec to WHMCS last night, the WHMCS didn't see cURL as being installed! SOOO I go right on over and do what I told you to do and I was all set!

    Yep!

WHM > Server Config > Tweak Settings > MySQL > Choose 5.0 > Click Save

    Easy as that!

Now for some reason I think when I upgraded I had to run an apache update to get PHP and MySQL to work properly.

    BTW This is NOT reversable!

Backup your databases before undergoing the upgrade in case something goes wrong!

Thanks - I'm going to look into this a little further before jumping off. I do daily backups so I'm good to go there.
