Last day I hust face following error while geting cpanel
    "Unactivated License File"

so I drop a ticket to your support & now the sittuation is that my VPS not working even not virtouzzo or any other, there are very important data (ftp, mysql, e-mail message, etc)

recently I got following reply from your support,
"Tech also tried to clone and recover your vps using virtouzzo which takes many hours , but it was not successful as well , this was done so that it can be done without losing any data. "

and also they nedd couple of hours after 24 hours to resolve this issue !!
    Amazing

To refresh the cpanel licence issue the following command as root:

    /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

This will refresh the cpanel licence stuff

I had this problem the other day where the cpanel licence had expired and so it could not be refreshed - a quick phone call to sales did the trick.

The license issue was result of number of corruptions in your vps and was not the main issue. If this would have been the issue it would have taken just few minutes to fix.

Techs have been working on your vps and have been trying to fix your vps all along, which include resinstallation of software as well and also an effort to restore your vps using virtouzzo, making a clone and other fixes as well.

After other efforts failed they created cpanel backups for you 109 accounts.

Then they created a new VPS for you and copied these backup files to this new vps and currently they are restoring these 109 accounts one by one.

Now restoring these 109 accounts will take some time, some are restored already and techs will update you with progress in your ticket.

we don't know whats going on there ?

37.30 hours are enough....... If your site jaguarpc where currept & go offline as my sites then what you do ???????????

If you talk about 1 or 2 hour then its okay, but if you take 1 or 2 day its very pain full,

as you are aks "The license issue was result of number of corruptions in your vps and was not the main issue" so why you didn't take the action quickly, why you waste the time, is there in your support team no one able to handle it ?

    gcc,

Like you, I am a client of JPC, so all I know about your situation is what I've read here. I do, however, have significant experience running servers, including mission critical servers at a mid-sized university. My comments are simply meant to illustrate what is probably happening in your situation and I mean no disrespect.

Very often when dealing with downed servers the exact problem isn't imeadiately obvious. Very often it takes three, four, five, or more different tests to figure out the issue and even once the issue is uncovered the cause of it still may not be known. This takes a lot of time--sometimes a couple of days. Support probably tried the obvious things first (resetting the license file, etc.) and when that failed they began digging deeper. It sounds as though, once discovering the root of the problem, support decided that the issue was too complicated to be worth fixing, so they instead created a new VPS instance and began backing up your sites and moving them to the new instance. The backup process can be slow and has to be done one site at a time. Given that you have a lot of sites on the VPS this further adds to the downtime.

If you search though the forums you will see several threads JPC-owned servers that have gone down for extended periods of time (two or three days sometimes). No one likes it, but occasionally it happens. There is a fine line between determining when a server is fixable and when it is time to go to a backup and start fresh because backup restores are extremely time consuming.

I am sure that JPC is doing everything they can to get your VPS back up and running. Please be patient with them (trust me, I know how difficult that can be to do, but getting upset or enraged doesn't help anything in these situations).

    Thanks Frank!

I've often been told I have a way with words. It just comes naturally.

You are welcome. The opposite is true with me. I speak my mind too much. Just today in some of the whiner threads I had to not send my post as I said the wrong thing a couple times. Felt good to type it out though.

Hopefully you will "rub off" on me.
