    Getting A Site Up

I'm afraid I'm new to using VPSs. Luckily I know what I'm doing in Linux or I'd be probably be screwed.

Regardless I can't seem to get a site set up. I have a domain at 1 and 1. I tried doing what their FAQ said and creating a subdomain for my Name server and giving that subdomain the IP address of my server. (Through their domain management) I then updated my domains DNS settings so it's pointing to that name server, with 1and1 as the current secondary name server. A whois on the domain shows it was successful as It has that name server and IP as one of the name servers.

I added the domain in Plesk but now I don't know what to do. Going to my domain in a browser times out, as it should as I have no content. But I don't know what to do in Plesk if anything, and where I need to upload my sites files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    what is the domain?
have you tried going to it using a proxy? as may be your ISP's DNS still hasn't been updated with the new nameserver details

Going to it through a proxy comes up with the default Plesk Default Domain Page.

Would that mean it's set up properly in Plesk and DNS settings?

Alright, so my only other question would be where to upload my sites files to. Not exactly shard hosting where it's nice and straightforward which directory to upload to.

in plesk you should have folder /var/www/vhosts/yourdomain.com/

The folders inside that are specific to that domain, the httpdocs one is the root for your domain.
