Email and qmail

I just switched from the reseller account to a VPS account. Everything (so far) has been going well (excepting the expected pains from switching from Cpanel to Plesk.) One thing I've discovered, though, is that email notifications from phpBB do not get sent. If a user emails another via the board email function, it works fine. I have the feeling that it has to do with phpBB's sendmail fix*. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for it?


* phpBB uses the PHP mail() function by default. Notifications are sent via BCC with the to field being blank. When that does not work, it sets the to field to "Undisclosed-recipients;" and gives it another whirl. If mail() still returns false, it throws an error, which is what I'm getting now.

I found out the root problem: qmail-scanner from atomic turtle's repo. Its interface to qmail is goofed and qmail did not recognize it properly, thus rejecting all email to/from the external world and from PHP scripts.
