Roundcube Webmail Program Within Cpanel & Auto Login

I had tech originally install a beta version of RoundCube. A few days ago I upgraded to the latest stable version. Everything is fine but I'm noticing one difference.

If a user goes to domain.com/webmail cpanel will bring up an authentication dialog box for user/pass. After logging in, they get to the cPanel webmail screen where they can choose which program to use. If you click on RC, it asks for the login details again. This never used to be the case when I had tech install it the first time, as RoundCube remembered the details and auto logged the user in.

I asked on the RoundCube support forum, but a developer said to ask my tech and send them a patch, so it seems they don't even know.

I don't want to open a ticket, cause I figure this is out of the scope for what they do, as I had paid them to install RoundCube.

Yes and no. There is the popular tutorial on hostgeekz which showed how to install RoundCube with cPanel. It was for an release candidate version of RC, not final version, which included a patch for RC to realize authentication had occurred. However, the patch doesn't work with the newly finalized version of RC and it seemed like too much of a hassle for me to go through and complete myself.

Since the final release of RC, cPanel is looking at including RC into the package after they do enough testing. I'm basically just waiting for that.

You'll be happy to know that it's arrived It's currently in the CURRENT tree of cPanel so if you're running RELEASE or STABLE you should be getting it real soon

Oh nice. I don't keep up much with cPanel news, just hear the odd things from around.

Do you know what will happen with my current setup since I've manually installed RoundCube? I've had the cPanel template modified to include a link to RoundCube and the RC directory exists. Not sure if the directory will be in the same location.

Sorry, but in a word, NO! LOL

I just happen to have seen RoundCube arrive on the VPS I use for testing, with an option to turn it on and off in WHM, but I've been too busy this week to have an opportunity to take a serious look. Weekend, maybe
