What to expect if I move my domian to Jag?

    Hi,
My VPS has been working fine once Jag fixed the setup problem.
I have one main issue left to resolve.
My domain is still registered with bluehost.
I can move the DNS pointers OK but there is no way to register the name-server myself as far as I can see.
(I'm using a "borrowed" name-server at the moment.)

I can open a ticket with BH and chances are the L1 won't know what I'm talking about.

I'd move the registration to Jag's registrar if I knew I could then manage the domain myself but I haven't been able to find any info on what to expect.
The control panels (if any) seems to vary a lot from registrar to registrar.
I'm even tempted to register a test domain just to check it out.
Can someone explain what the JAG domain controls (if they exist) will let you do?
    Eddie,

JPC uses eNom as their registrar, specifically eNom's PDQ interface. It gives you full control of your account including the ability to register and renew domain names, change whois details (the public record of ownership including the listed registrant, billing and technical contacts, etc.), switch between eNom's own and third-party (including JPC's) nameservers, manage DNS zones if you choose to use eNom's DNS, and use/manage a handful of eNom-specific features that aren't commonly used by most people. In other words, you'll get full control of everything.

Thanx for the replies. I guess I'll give it a go.
I'm particularly interested in registering the nameservers.
It is not something I've had to do before.
I guess there will be a FAQ on moving domains somewhere.
    Cheers Eddie,

I did this on one of my domains, but the search bots don't seem to care much for the idea.

Is there some reason for doing this, other than vanity?

I don't believe it is optional unless the domain registrar allows IP numbers instead of names for name servers.
The system has to know what IP belongs to the name server.
This isn't an issue for shared hosting.
If I've got that wrong enlighten me.

Jag set my VPS up wrong initially and it still had the previous account owner's nameservers set up.
The old name servers worked but I had them removed.
The setup info said to use NS1.nerdipedia.com and NS2.nerdipedia.com as domains servers.
This wasn't possible and several sources including this forum say this because they aren't registered.
A friend pointed one of his registered servers to my IP and that is what we are using but it is temporary.

If one of Jag nameservers pointed to my account then I'd be happy enough to use it.
I don't see why search robots would care about name servers?

    Thanks.
I've already opened an aletianic account and already found the nameservers stuff (which my old registrar doesn't have). I don't think I'll have any problems with it.
I'm just waiting for the transfers.
I managed to misspell my email address when I signed up so maybe this has caused a delay.
    Ciao Eddie,

@Vin: VPS accounts can't add domains to JPC's nameservers, so they have to run their own. In your case, if I recall correctly, you were mapping your own names onto JPC's nameserver IPs. With VPS servers you're running your own nameserver which, obviously, needs its own name.

Everything is fine now but the domain transfer wasn't happening for a while.
I submitted a ticket and was told to wait.
After a week the transfer order(s) were cancelled saying the current registrar didn't reply or something like that.
In the past no-response still allowed a transfer after a week or so as long as the domain was unlocked and the EPP code valid.
Anyway the problem was domain privacy and once I got that figured it didn't take too long - some clues from jag would have helped and save a week or so.

Anyhow once the domains were here registering the name servers was trivial and it works fine.
    Eddie,
