Cpanel Question (auto-update of installed packages)

Does cpanel auto-update all of my installed packages on my JagPC VPS? In other words, is my Apache updated to the latest release version automatically by cPanel? Exim? Bind? PHP? If not, what would likely be the best process to see what is installed on my machine (by cpanel) and then go about updating it so that cPanel doesn't get broken.

    Any help would be appreciated!

cPanel auto-updates some packages while others require your 'permission'.

A server running cPanel has most packages work like the original distro, so on a CentOS/Fedora server most packages are updated via the official RPM's via "yum update" or apt-get etc.

Other packages are auto-updated by cPanel only, because they contain patches and modifications that make them compatible with cPanel, these are Exim, SpamAssassin, ClamAV and others.

Finally, there are those packages which do not get auto-updated and cPanel allows you to update them any time you want. These packages include Apache, PHP and others.

I don't really have a full list of packages that are auto-updated, but i'm sure if you asked in the correct forum you'd get a better answer (hint: http://forums.cpanel.net/)
