1. 2 voyagers + 1 odyssey { odyssey will have mysql}

2. 2 odyssey {1 will have mysql and other rest}

will failover applies in both cases?
which will run faster for users in accessing the site and why?

Hi,

It really depends on what your site is doing and your usage statics.

If you don't have mysql on at least two of the machines no fail-over is possible for either option.

You need to figure out what is causing the most load. mysql queries, static files and dynamic files and then come up with a clustering plan.
