    Failed Mysql and Apache Upgrade

I need to upgrade from mysql 4 to 5.

So I chose mysql 5 in whm. I got all the way to easyapache, but then I had only 100 mb of RAM - so it gave me a warning about upgrading (I have 512 mb ram).

Now I've got two httpd services.

On my virtuosso control panel for the vps, there is a httpd service that is listed as not running.

There is a second httpd service that is running and is working (eg. it serves up webpages).

How can I get it to only have one http service?

Any advice on trying to get the mysql upgrade to work? I'm thinking I might try it late at night when I might be able to burst past my 512mb ram limit. Or I might want to try temporarily shutting down several services (we're using spamd, mailman, mysql).

I'm trying to optimize things to see if we can avoid getting another 128mb or 256mb ram.

Oops, make that I've currently only got 256mb ram.

I'm going to upgrade to 512mb.

Check this link below regarding the httpd service down shown in Virtuozzo.

Minimum 512 MB RAM is recommended to run easyapache. Open a support ticket, we will temporarily increase RAM and run a successful easyapache for you if you do not plan to upgrade your RAM currently.

I see why there are two httpd services.

Fortunately I was able to get easyapache to do the upgrade. It worked even though my internet connection crashed in the middle for over an hour. I had around 300mb free ram (500md was recommended, so I did it late at night). Now I've got mysql 5!

Glad things worked out for you, however whenever you try to run easyapache, make sure you have a reliable internet connection or run it in screen if you are running it on shell rather than WHM. Running from shell will also save you more memory.
