Hi,
We do free backups for the vps servers. To access the backups and restore files yourself, you need to purchase the cdp addon.
Datalockbox service is for dedicated server owners.

Hello,
Jaguarpc support is offer free backup to all vps plans .. you ought to configure this or enable the backups systems from your WHM root.

The backups ARE free. In case of a big system crash, JagPC will have backups from which they'll restore your VPS.
Restoring small bits and pieces, for example because you accidentally deleted something, is not free. You can either make your own backups for this purpose (via WHM or otherwise), buy the add on, or pay JagPC on a per case basis if you need a specific (set of) file(s) restored.
I suppose the firm I work for makes lots of backups too. Doesn't mean I can easily access them when I accidentally delete an important mail. Doesn't just about any firm / ISP work that way?
It says you can restore files in the CDP addon which you have to purchase.Restoring small bits and pieces, for example because you accidentally deleted something, is not free.
My question is the snapshot they clame it takes. If my VPS crashes can I revert to another VPS and use this snapshot. Otherwise restoring WHM configurations and 3rd party addons. Or am I stuck with my 1 Virtuozzo Snapshot? I am just looking for a Disaster Recovery Solution so my server can be back up within a day. Any info is appreciated.
As long as the new/second vps is hosted with us, yes, we can restore the entire vps data from the cdp backups to the new vps for you.

I have the CDP backup panel but there isn't much I am allowed to do but restore files. The History page doesn't display anything nor can I setup the frequency of the backups up. It looks as if they are set to run at random times and certainly not daily.
The only three backup dates I have to choose from are:
09/28/2009 23:58:31 EDT
09/26/2009 08:33:15 EDT
09/13/2009 16:42:09 EDT
This is certainly not daily backups. Also I was informed that they could use these backups to restore an ENTIRE server. I am curious if my server was to crash and I requested to be on a new server with Jag would this backup restore my WHM configuration and my 3rd Party Apps installed? (firewall, RVSiteBuilder, MailScanner, etc..)
Also these backups are off site but which data center are they located at?
Yes, that is what CDP backup for shared/vps is meant to do, allow you to browse and restore from existing backups. We retain last 2 daily backups and one monthly. The monthly backup for your server/node is probably set for the 13th of every month.
Yes, the backup contains the entire filesystem on your vps, including every single file/folder/configuration etc.
The datacenter depends on where you server is, please open a support ticket and techs could check and assist you in determining where your backups are.
