    Apache Resets Problem

    My new VPS is running for 17 days already without a hitch but yesterday, apache went down for more than 1 hour and then another today. My VPS remains to be running, it's just that VPS.

    I was told that I could be hitting some QoS and so it restarts itself. But I don't know which QoS that is. Actually, I don't know what are that QoS set on my vps.

    I have one website there with less than 1000 unique visitors daily. There are other test sites sitting on that vps with maybe a combined 200 uniques daily and they are all served by wordpress. The big one is running with super-cache plugin.

    Can anybody give me an idea? What are the things I should check?

    Hi;

    Check the apache logs for more details. If apache is crashing on the server frequently then there can be several reasons including the chances of a some kind of attack and QOS hitting randomly, this requires close server monitoring. It would be more appropriate if you open a ticket in the support department with all the details so that we can assist you more efficiently.

    thanks for your reply. actually, I'm already in contact with the support. They found out that I'm hitting the memory limit. The burstable RAM was initially set to 512 and had to 1024KB. They've been great on fixing this the soonest possible time.

    After that, the memory usage is as below.
    Guaranteed Memory..: 256 MB
    Burstable Memory..: 1024 MB
    Current Usage..: 372 MB

    For me, that kinda strange because the domains sitting on my vps are just a subset of the number of domains I placed on a shared hosting and I did not encounter any problem.

    So I think something is amiss and maybe the community has something to share. My sites are running on wordpress.
