Having crappy experience on penguin / vps

Is anyone else here on penguin? I'm having issues with my vps falling over regularly more than several times a day - no WHM, no SSH, no httpd, no mail - just a smoking wreck. Support are telling me they'll "monitor the problem" once they resurrect the vz each time, but my container is idling at 3% load and is doing little to contribute to the problems. Does anyone have any advice? My clients are ready to sue me, gut me and hang me from the rafters - it's going to lose me money, wondering if I should have stayed on reseller.

And if anyone from JPC is watching, ticket #12990934 - and don't tell me to open another one, because it's the same problem over all these days, and I'll keep it open until (and if) there's fix.

One of the support team from India said the crash was being caused by an email login using an incorrect password...? Is that kosher?

    Hi,

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. Our admins are working on it. Please hold on and check the ticket for more update on this.

Your local IP was blocked in the server for multiple login failure and that's why you was not able to access the server for some time. Tech have unblocked the IP and updated your ticket.

Please hold on. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this.

I have had a few BFDs since going to vps, but nothing amazing from what I've seen here. Only one today...

OK, so the BFDs explain the IP connection getting locked for WHM access, but that's not related directly to the vps falling over... sounds like the server's being attacked elsewhere...

thanks for posting Anoop - hope you can move towards a more permanent fix.

just an update: vps and sites have been down (all services) for over 4 hours now... my ticket has been downgraded to level 2...

was just looking for a quiet server circling a G5 yellow dwarf star somewhere towards the outer disk edge of the galaxy...

We regret that you are having to face this. I see your ticket #12990934 updated by the tech and awaiting your reply. Could you update the ticket with the details of your issue as the main URL listed in the ticket is loading for me.
However, we are monitoring the hardware node for any load issues and will disable any account causing load to avoid degraded performance for our precious clients.

I am a client for almost 1 month and found Jac support are excellent. I have so many reseller accounts with other providers and i wanted to put my Main site to reliable server .
after long investigation I selected Jag managed VPS and everything fine except the downtime.

Can you believe, my VPS had 3-4 Downtime (some are few hours) in Last ONE month. on this VPS i have my main site only. So my VPS not overloaded. i am not expecting 100% up, but atleast 99.9% is enough.

Techs @ jag responding quickly but this regular down time hurt my reputation in the field

Anyone got this type of experience with jag VPS ?

Do you know the hardware node where your VPS is hosted, or else could you provide me a ticket ID that you opened regarding this issue via PM or here so that we can check your issue immediately.

Just few minutes ago i received the reply for the ticket mentioning problem solved down. Yes, now it is working again.

But this frequent downtime is hurt very badly to my business. According to my knowledge, all these are related to main server not with my VPS.

    Yes, Ticket ID [#12988341]

    Tks for the respond

We apologize for the problem on this node, we have identified few high resource consuming vpss on this node and are working on this further to stabilize the node by either getting them upgraded to higher plans or getting them to optimize the usage.

I'm seeing some heavy loads on mysql on occasion. FTP fell over yesterday once, but on the whole my vps is running *ok* since my episode above (thanks again to Anoop).

I can only assume someone is running their vps (or more than one) at redline, which is what they're allowed to do... perhaps Parallels load balancing isn't so great.

Note - I decided to move off penguin to a hybrid vps, to give myself and my clients a better chance of capacity. Sounded great, but currently in the hole as the sites haven't been live post-transfer for about 7 hours already. See this post Sloppy transfer to Hybrid

Out of the pan and into the fire?
