Unhappy Trying to change my nameservers at Godaddy

I hope someone can help me with this - I sent a ticket (#12993132) about it and a few other things, but no one has contacted me back in well over an hour.

I purchased a VPS yesterday, and I'm trying to change my nameservers over at GoDaddy. It won't let me change them - says the nameservers are not registered.

What can I do about this?

I'm trying to make sure my website is working properly, but I can't get in to check on things, because I changed servers my Zen Cart program needs changes made to it with a reinstall - but I can't do that with just my ip and server name.

    Help!!

    Joanne

In fact the Nameservers need to be registered first and then you can point your domain to them. Also I found that the Nameservers were not setup on your VPS properly, we have setup them now and we have replied your ticket as well. Please follow us up in the ticket and update us if you have any query or facing any problem. Thank you.

    Unhappy

This is all so confusing to me - I've never had a VPS before.

I set up a new domain name as it had been an addon domain at my present host. So thinking I was a smart cookie, I logged into my cpanel and moved the files from the old subdomain folder to the new folder - and now, the files are nowhere to be found

and now... my original domain which is http://joannes-digital-designs.com or at this point is supposed to be http://69.73.164.209/~joannes/ won't come up at all, says it can't find the server. I'm in a state over this mess, can anyone help me??

    Thanks in advance,
    Joanne
