Are you referring to backups of cPanel accounts created from "cPanel >> Files >> Backups" feature, then the backups should be in the root directory of that cPanel account.
If you are a VPS/Dedicated client and you have configured backups via WHM, the path of the backups should be mentioned in the "WHM >> Configure Backup". If you are still not able to locate the backups, open a support ticket so that we can check them for you.

I misquoted the filename. Below is the disk space usage given by a JPC tech. They had kindly deleted the file a day ago but it reappeared. Even though I have disabled any backups for now.

I want to delete it without opening another support ticket because it should be a simple thing for me to do and they have more pressing matters on their hands, I'm sure.

    Hi;

We have verified that 0ut of total 35GB of disk space you have already consumed 31GB on the server. Here is the detailed list of disk space usage on the server for you.

    4.0K ./srv
    4.0K ./media
    5.5M ./etc
    8.0K ./.viminfo
    33M ./opt
    4.0K ./selinux
    0 ./aquota.user
    19M ./lib
    24K ./.gnupg
    6.9G ./usr
    159M ./root
    4.0K ./stunnel.rnd
    320K ./tmp
    4.0K ./sys
    4.0K ./boot
    7.6M ./scripts
    4.0K ./mnt
    0 ./.autofsck
    4.0K ./error_log
    15G ./cpbackup @@@@@
    276M ./proc
    4.0M ./bin
    1.5G ./var
    8.2G ./home
    4.0K ./.rnd
    8.0K ./perl588installer.tar.gz
    110M ./perl588installer
    8.0K ./dev
    4.0K ./perl
    0 ./aquota.group
    6.3M ./sbin
    4.0K ./initrd
    32G .

The directory cpbackup is consuming 15GB of space and it contains some backups , you can remove some of the old un-necessary backups from this directory to make some extra space on the server.
Any assist is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Yes, these are backups enabled via WHM and are stored in /cpbackup folder. If you disabled these backups properly, they should not reappear once deleted. Please update your ticket so that we may disable them for you.
You may maintain backups locally by downloading them, or consider our CDP backup service that will allow you access to up to 3 backup snapshots where you can restore up to a single file without having to keep backups enabled on your server.

That's CDP backup service sounds great!

I'll reopen the ticket and request the file be deleted again and verify that backups have been disabled. I just didn't want to bother support with this because they have already been so good to me

    Thanks Much!
