DNS A record pointing to old VPS IP

Today we move from a VPS3 to a Hybrid VPS and we update the name servers ips to point to the new server ips in the morning.

It's normal that one A record still point to the old IP (69.73.153.216) in some domains when I do a DNS Lookup?

    For example the domain becerraorozco.com:

    becerraorozco.com. A IN 69.73.153.216
    becerraorozco.com. NS IN ns1.clicsti.com.
    becerraorozco.com. NS IN ns2.clicsti.com.
    ns1.clicsti.com. A IN 174.132.226.231
    ns2.clicsti.com. A IN 174.132.226.232

Do I need to wait more for the DNS propagation?

It could be. DNS zones are generally set to live in caches for about 12 hours, so it could take that long, or longer in some cases, before all caches refresh.

A common tactic to reduce this turnaround time is to temporarily set the timeout on the zones (or records) you are going to move to something low, like 600 seconds (10 minutes) a day or so before the move is to take place. This helps ensure that caches refresh quickly after the change occurs and minimizes perceived downtime.

    Hi,

It looks like it was just a propagation issue as jason indicated.

I do work for JaguarPC. If you do need help please provide your ticket number (this isn't sensitive information).

If I'm not active on the forum please open a ticket instead of PMing me. If you think the issue requires access to your server please open a ticket.
